With a passport full of stamps, scorching hot exclusive selections and the technical skills to match, TREi is one of the leading lights of the New Zealand drum and bass scene. Internationally known as both a producer and a DJ, over the last seven years, TREi has made his mark, both at home and abroad, particularly across Europe, where he is fast becoming a favourite for those who know.

Based in Wellington, New Zealand, TREi's seamless mixing and anthemic productions have seen him linked to some of the finest d&b record labels, club nights, DJ's and producers on the planet. With the likes of Samurai Music, Commercial Suicide, Shogun Ltd, Uprising Recordings, Concord Dawn, Andy C, Klute, Friction and Black Sun Empire in the mix, in 2011, his presence is impossible to ignore.

With his musical roots lying in guitar, TREi recently dusted off the six-string to play as part of fellow New Zealand d&b icon's The Upbeats live show. Inspired by this new platform and his experiences performing internationally, TREi is on the verge of elevating into an exciting new creative echelon.

Current projects include collaborations with The Upbeats, Concord Dawn, Chris SU, Dose and emerging talent Johnny Hooves. In tandem, TREi is also finalizing releases on Viper Recordings, Uprising Records and working towards his second album.

Focused on making nightclub ceilings drip with sweat; and writing the tunes that we all party to, TREi is laser-etching himself into the history books; and future proofing drum and bass in the process. Hold tight.

Combining his love for block-rockin hip-hop with skull shaking basslines and soul stirring funk, the K+Lab sound is a party rocking mother-ship full of musical booty. K+Lab live takes you on an eclectic odyssey through the underground swamps of bass music, with a set that’s laden heavy with his exclusive bootlegs, remixes and original tunes. Sampling everything from jazz, to Howlin’ Wolf, to De La Soul and Sedge Warbler he will leave you pleasantly disoriented as he drops brick after brick in to your earholes! It is this bass-heavy uniqueness that has seen him become an in demand performer throughout Australasia, consistently smashing up the dancefloor in clubs,theatres and festivals!

Having learnt the ropes in the NZ drum & bass scene has led to him releasing some of the phattest and most progressive glitch-hop releases on the planet. His music has appeared in the “Beatport Glitch-Hop Top 10” multiple times and he has now released over 30 tunes on labels Simplify (USA), Skanky Panky (UK), Empathy Records (NZ), Glitch N Chop (NZ) and his own imprint Junkfood recordings ( www.junkfood.co.nz ).

The last 4 years have seen K+Lab bringing that goodness to the dancefloor and ya headphones over and over performing to thousands of blissed out punters, alongside many of his friends idols in the global EDM scene!

Having just returned back from his Canadian tour K+lab is ready to bring the phatness to his hometown with his new dex n fx set.

JDubs first album is a selection of butter-smooth vibrations enriched with soul. ‘The Keynotes’ is a product of patience and passion, a project that took many years to manifest. Waiting for the appropriate time, JDubs – aka Ben James – began making music at 14, MCing and eventually hosting RDU’s $ Mix hip-hop show before catching the attention of Shapeshifter’s Devin Abrams. The breakthrough came when he was offered a spot alongside much-loved partner-in-rhyme MC Aeries on Devin’s third solo album as Pacific Heights. Dubs’ work impressed, and now comes his crafted release out on Shapeshifter’s record label, Truetone.

JDubs uses music as a tool to gently but powerfully push a message of love and forgiveness – with a view to waking people up to the system that controls the way they think, feel and act. Treasured by the music’s maker is the smile that often forms between the ears that hear it – Dubs says he hopes people who listen to his album or see him live will absorb positive energies from its vibrations. Most of the sizzling beats are produced by JDubs’ equally talented good friend, London-born Charles Kickens. And with input from Sacha Vee, Pacific Heights and P-Money among others, JDubs brings a flowing vibration flavoured with hip-hop, drizzled with jazz … from the soul, for the soul.
