L40 is a 6 piece reggae/rnb band that was formed in January 2011. L40, which is short for “Lattitude 40” symbolizes the latitude co ordinate of 40 degrease. On a map the co ordinates of latitude 40 degrease and longitude 120 degrease shows you the location to our home of Ratana paa. A small settlement founded by the famous spiritual healer Tahu Potiki Wiremu Ratana.

With all the band members hailing from Ratana paa, the name never lets them forget where they come from. Currently residing in WHanganui, they have released their first single called “All Good Tonight” which had its first radio air play at the local Maori radio station Awa Fm in 2011. The band has opened for New Zealand acts such as Three Houses Down, Sonz of Zion, Pieter T, Jae O and NRG Rising.

As they continue on their journey they will continue to thrieve for success and never give up. Always being on their A-game everywhere they play, waiting to break out on to the New Zealand music scene.
