THE WOLF GANG ‘take’ San Fran
Say sayonara to New Zealand Music Month with a free showcase from Wellington’s newest collective of musical misfits. THE WOLF GANG are a talented bunch of creative characters: eight musos who between them have five projects on the boil, three of which will perform together here for the first time.
EMILY FAIRLIGHT’S subtle and seductive songs can melt away any mid-week woes. Come see her before she becomes famous, it’d be impolite to your future grandchildren not to: this is a prime opportunity to collect a noteworthy memory to pass on to them.
SKY VILLAGE is the latest cub to emerge from the pack, and THE WOLF GANG is proud to present their live debut here. To the canny observer this may appear to be Emily’s band with an extra interloper, but in showcasing the impressive songwriting and vocal talents of one Mr Michael Taylor, SKY VILLAGE is a different beast altogether. Check out skyvillage.bandcamp.com and judge for yourself.
No strangers to the Wellington music scene.
FORCE FIELDS are all set to dish up another tasty helping of sonic pop. Currently working towards the release of their sophomore EP, they've got a couple of brand spanking new tracks to unveil.
Between bands the inimitable CAPPED ‘N AMERICA will trundle out his sweet DJ selections. His tunes have been described as “catnip for hipsters”. You can come see why and it’s not going to cost you a dime. That’s right: a night of cheap drinks and free, furry fun awaits. So come party down with us, upstairs at 171 Cuba St, and we’ll take it easy on you when the next full moon appears. Dancing and howling compulsory.
Drink specials on the night:
